About the Tour
Hipsters, music enthusiasts, and trendsetters are supporting
their favorite local artists at Emerging Artists Tour events
every weekend this year from April 2005 through March 2006 in 15
cities across the country.
The Emerging Artists Tour is a new and bold approach to creating
nationwide exposure for emerging artists by integrating corporate
sponsorships from Scion and various media partners to produce
events that highlight and promote the best talent from each
metropolitan location of the tour with 72 events and publishing
a mini-magazine distributed in all 15 cities.
Adam Bauer, Producer and President of Big Sky Media (New
York), created the
Tour in 2004 with the corporate support of Scion.
Adam Bauer – Bio
An entrepreneur since the age of 10, Adam’s
projects and work have taken him from his native town of Clay
Center, Kansas to the countries of Guatemala, Honduras, Ecuador,
Peru, Bolivia, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Brazil, Haiti, Dominican
Republic, Ghana, Cameroon, DR Congo, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Sierra
Leone as well as a short stint in London.
A dot-com wunderkind, Adam rode the wave working in London
and on Wall Street while living the good dot-com life by the
age of 23.
As the end of the dot-com era was looking imminent, Adam
went on a snowboarding trip to Crested Butte, Colorado in
2001, and after completing an exhaustingly long run, had the
idea to start New York based Big Sky Media, a consulting,
marketing, and production company.
From 2001 - 2002, Adam managed and implemented accounting
software for an international NGO and their 55 offices around
the world. While on the project, Adam was able to climb Mt.
Cotopaxi in Ecuador, visit Machu Picchu in Peru, hang out
on the beaches of Brazil and the Dominican Republic, see the
volcanoes of Nicaragua, drink matte de coca in Bolivia, visit
Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe, and safari in Botswana.
After working on a few film projects in New York, Adam and
Big Sky Media started to focus on securing Fortune 500 clients
by integrating corporate marketing campaigns into music events
as a non-traditional way to reach the ACTIVE demographic of
16 – 30 year olds.
In late 2003, Big Sky Media created the Emerging Artists
Tour, a nationwide tour of emerging electronic and hip-hop
musicians.
Now in its second year, the Tour is in 14 cities across the
country with 60 performances lined up throughout 2005 –
2006 while working with over 40 DJs from the U.S. and Europe.
