EJ's Bio:
The party has cruised along at a decent pace. DJ’s
have taken the decks, droppin their beats, while party
goers stand around watching the night unfold, and even a
few have worked on a few dance moves. Then suddenly, a new
DJ takes the stage. Instantly the night becomes electric as
the mood and overall vibe sky rockets through the roof.
Enter “EJthaDJ”, (an acronym that is simply short for Eric
Jean tha Disc Jockey) bursting onto the stage with an
energy like no other.
EJ, (as everyone knows him by) a California native, got
his introduction to the electronic music dance scene during
the peak of San Francisco’s rave era towards the latter
part of the 1990’s. It was during this time that EJ found
himself standing amidst massive crowds, listening to a type
of music that was literally lifting the party kids off
their feet. A type of music that although exceptionally
uplifting and beautiful, had a driving and energetic bounce
to it like nothing he’d ever heard. Causing entire crowds
to jump in unision, cheering loudly while clapping wildly
and pumping their hands in the air. This was TRANCE at it’s
finest, and INSTANTLY, EJ was in love.
After a few intense years as a raver, EJ relocated to
Michigan. Discovering the grass roots of an early dance
scene in it’s development there, EJ become an active member
and soon learned, that being in the state, locked between
Detroit’s Techno, and Chicago’s House, Trance was not
really a recognized sound. There was a small handful of
great DJ’s that did play it, but nothing like what EJ had
come to know back home. He also noticed parties didn’t seem
to have the same energy as he’d come to know them.
Determined to change this and spread the music he loved, EJ
set to work on learning to master the decks. It didn’t take
but a few pointers from fellow mentors and DJ’s to show in
little time at all, EJ was a born natural, even referred to
on occasion as a Prodigy of Mixing.
Within only a few short months, EJ had released his
first fully produced and packaged demo “BOING”. This was
the turning point in getting him noticed, and soon the
bookings started to roll in. Teaming up with friend and
partner DJ Pix, EJ also helped launch a website
specifically geared to promoting and pushing the local
dance scene in the right direction, aptly named “Advance
The Scene”. Within the matter of a year, EJthaDJ became a
common name popping up on club and rave flyers everywhere.
It wasn’t unusual to hear and see a "raise the roof"
performance of his numerous times a month. EJ was in high
demand. But what was it that kept the bookings rolling and
in and a fan base of groupies never wanting to miss a
single show? If you’ve never witnessed EJ live, you are
missing out on an experience you won’t soon forget.
With his hard progressive blend of energetic, bouncey,
driving and all around massive house & trance anthems,
choosing only the biggest and the best, EJ never brings
anything other than a mind blowing selection of tracks.
Many that have been rockin clubs world wide. But what it
really comes down too with EJ, is STAGE PRESENCE.
Numerous trance DJ’s arise, and with the popularity of
the now world reknowned sound, killer tracks are readily
availble to anyone who may choose to spin it out. But very
few, will present it as EJ does. It is evident from the
very beginning of each and every set he performs, that EJ
is in his element, and that this is his passion. Pouring
his heart & soul into his sets, EJ is easily one of the
most animated and interactive performers you’ll ever see, &
you can not help but become fully immersed and involved.
Once a screaming fan like those now dancing before him, EJ
continues to do so behind the decks. All smiles, singing
along with his chosen tracks, clapping, pumping his fists
in the air, waving his arms over his head, and even
breaking into a full bounce at the peaks of his tracks is
not uncommon to see. And honestly, you can’t HELP but find
yourself doing the same. It’s only a matter of moments
before EJ has his dance floor packed, and has everyone
cheering, clapping, bouncing, and dancing along in unison,
just as he is doing on stage. And he manages to do this all
while continuing to be a very solid DJ, dropping beats that
fuse together seamlessly, while working the mixer and
giving the tracks his own personal flare. With bass drops
here, filters and perfectly timed flanges there. EJ takes
the tunes and works them into something fresh and exciting.

Now a resident of Minneapolis, MN., DJ’ing for 8 years,
EJ is set to become one of the best known trance artists in
the Twin Cities. Recently recognized for his undeniable
talent, EJ was witnessed at a locals showcase and
immediately picked up by the newly established management
agency and soon to become record label “Maximum Choonage”.
A fitting symbiosis for both parties involved. Maximum
Choonage is a company determined to take on artists that
present an energy that is sure to encapsulate the crowds
they put them in front of. Forget the DJ’s that just stand
there. Their performers will leave their audiences craving
more, and choosing EJ to be their forerunner, they now have
a DJ that is without a doubt an amazing crowd pleaser, but
is sure to further their name, as well as his own. With new
demo mixes “One Minute In Heaven” & “•IMAGINE•nation” out,
and his newest in the works “Crowd Control”, the stage is
set for a hot new emerging artist to climb to the top and
